This is the so-called old type that was sold until last summer. The new type is plated.
It's not possible to say which is better, old or new, but the main reason for discontinuing the old type was simply that it took too long to manufacture (= high cost).
Also, the water drainage hole is smaller on this old type (old type approx. 2mm, new type approx. 2.5mm).

This is an original resin cap designed to prevent aquatic life from being sucked into the pipe when creating an overflow using PVC pipes.
It fits 16A elbows and valve sockets (inner diameter approx. 22mm).

Made of hard resin, it can be easily attached and detached by hand, making cleaning and maintenance for clogging easy.
It is robust, highly durable, and has a clean appearance.

* **Cannot be inserted directly into 16 gauge PVC pipes.** It fits into fittings (elbows and valve sockets) for 16 gauge PVC pipes.
* This is simply a cap, so it can be used with 16A fittings regardless of whether it's for outdoor breeding tanks, indoor individual tanks, or centralized filtration tanks.

**[Notes and Requests]**
The inner diameter of the fitting insertion port varies significantly depending on the manufacturer, the type of fitting (e.g., elbow vs. valve socket from the same manufacturer), and manufacturing tolerances even within the same type.
For this reason, this product is designed to be slightly larger (tighter) to prevent it from becoming loose even if your existing fitting has a wider inner diameter.
However, in the unlikely event that it is too loose, please adjust it by wrapping a small amount of cellophane tape around it (we have tested it with various fittings, and in practice, we have not encountered cases where it was so loose that tape was needed or so tight that it wouldn't fit).

- The product is the cap only.
- As this is a 3D printed product, the surface smoothness is not very high, but it appears to have a textured finish, so it does not look out of place (it may look slightly out of place in magnified photos).
