Vintage Stratton Mother of Pearl Compact Mirror England White Cross Drugs Vegas
Vintage Stratton Mother of Pearl Compact Mirror England White Cross Drugs Vegas This elegant compact was purchased at the legendary White Cross Drugs in Las Vegas — the city's famous 24-hour pharmacy and cosmetic destination that served showgirls and celebrities during the golden era of the Strip. White Cross Drugs became known as the place where performers prepared for the stage and where iconic figures including Elvis Presley, Liberace, members of the Rat Pack, and Siegfried & Roy were among its customers. The store operated for decades before closing in 2012, and its historic neon sign now resides in the Neon Museum collection. The compact itself was made in England by Stratton, one of the most respected makers of mid-century vanity compacts. It features a luminous checkerboard mother-of-pearl lid, gold-tone case, original mirror, original powder, and original Stratton powder puff. You can add your own powder pan to it and use or display as is on your vanity. Mirror is clear and functional. Original powder remains present but is being sold as a collectible display feature only due to age.
