Mr. Khojayan’s client had been convicted previously of possession of child pornography under 18 U.S.C. § 2252(A) in the Central District of California.
Mr. Khojayan filed a motion to terminate his client’s federal sex offender registration early. He attached a recent report from a psychologist and letters of support from family and friends. He also argued that his 15 years of registration should be reduced to only 10 years of registration for having a clean record. A defendant can seek to reduce the duration of the registration period by 5 years by maintaining a ‘clean record’ for a period of 10 years. 34 U.S.C. § 20915(b)(3)(A). The Court agreed, reduced his registration and terminated it.
